Grundlage für dieses Kompensationsvideo sind Tagesschauaufzeichnungen aus den Jahren 1978 und 1998. Die Künstlerin hat das Tonmaterial in kleinste Silben zerschnitten, aus denen sie den Schlager von Udo Jürgens "Und immer wieder geht die Sonne auf" zusammengesetzt hat. Zu dem Text des Schlagers sind Tagesschaubilder von Kriegen, Katastrophen, Demonstrationen usw. zu sehen. Durch den Kontrast der alltäglichen Schreckensbilder und dem idyllischen Schlager wird die Darstellung des Weltgeschehens in den Medien kritisch in Frage gestellt. Egal was passiert, die Tagesschau dauert immer 15 Minuten und dann kehrt man zum Alltag zurück - es geht eben "immer wieder die Sonne auf".

The basis for this compensation video are recordings of the German news program ‘Tagesschau’ from the years 1978 and 1998. The artist cut the sound material into small fragments which she then reassembled to the text of a German songwriters’s song ‘The sun will rise again and again’. Pictures of war, catastrophies and demonstrations featured on the daily news accompany the text of the song. Through the contrast between the visual violence and the idyllic song, the artist invites the viewer to question the way the media presents daily world events. Regardless of what happens, the news takes 15 minutes after which one returns to daily routine, and all of these events do not hinder the sun from ‘rising again and again’.

Ce montage vidéo est basé sur des enregistrements du "Tageschau", le journal télévisé allemand, datant de 1978 et 1998. L’artiste a coupé la bande son en syllabes très courtes à partir desquelles elle a ensuite constitué le tube d’un chanteur allemand "Et le soleil se lève toujours". Le texte du tube est accompagné d’images de guerres, de catastrophes, de manifestations, etc. prises au "Tageschau". La présentation dans les médias de ce qui se passe dans le monde est remise en question de façon critique par le contraste entre les horreurs quotidiennes et le monde idyllique colporté par la chanson. Quoi qu’il advienne, le journal télévisé dure toujours 15 minutes et la vie quotidienne reprend son cours, tout comme le "soleil se lève toujours".
