Die Fotomontage zeigt eine Batman-Figur vor russischem Militärgerät. Zur Zeit des Ost-West-Konflikts wäre so der Kampf "Gut gegen Böse" dargestellt worden. Nach Ende des Kalten Krieges wirkt die Darstellung ironisch: Beide Seiten verherrlichen auf ihre Weise das Militär. Im Grunde genommen sind sie sich also - trotz früherer Feindschaft - durchaus ähnlich. Die Verherrlichung des Militärs ist "transkontinental", also grenzübergreifend.

The photomontage shows a Batman figure in front of Russian tanks. At the time of the East-West conflict, the fight between ‘good and evil’ would have been depicted in such a manner. Now, after the Cold War, this picture has a more ironic effect. Both parties glorify the military in their way. Despite having been enemies, they are basically very similar in this. Such glorification of the military is "transcontinental", that is the same on both sides of the border.

Ce montage photographique représente le personnage de Batman devant du matériel militaire russe. A l’époque du conflit Est-Ouest, la lutte entre ‘le bien et le mal’ aurait été représentée d’une manière semblable. Maintenant que la Guerre froide est terminée, ce montage a un côté ironique. Les protagonistes glorifient tous deux l’aspect militaire, chacun de leur façon. Qu’ils aient été ennemis ne les empêche donc pas d’être profondément semblables. Cette glorification du militaire est "transcontinentale", elle va au-delà des frontières.
